چکیده

We studied 23 cases of angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy (AILD) and AILD-like lymphoma for evidence of EpsteinBarr virus (EBV) using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and in situ hybridization studies. EBV nucleic acid sequences were found by either PCR or in situ hybridization in 96% of the cases. There was a wide range in the number of EBVpositive cells among the different cases as detected by in situ hybridization. The EBV-positive cells most often possessed nuclei of intermediate to large size. Double-labeling immunohistochemistry/in situ hybridization studies demonstrated that most of the EBV-positive cells expressed the B-lineage

Association of Epstein-Barr virus with an angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy-like lymphoproliferative syndrome.

A patient presented with fever, night sweats, generalized lymphadenopathy, cold agglutinin hemolytic anemia, and thrombocytopenia. Lymph node biopsy revealed a lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate sparing the cortical sinuses but associated with arborizing blood vessels. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA was demonstrated in tissue from an involved lymph node. These data suggest an association of EBV with a ...

Angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy after infectious mononucleosis.

Angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy occurred in a 46-year-old man 16 months after an episode of infectious mononucleosis induced by Epstein-Barr (EB) virus. The features of infectious mononucleosis included fever, pharyngitis, lymph gland enlargement, hepatosplenomegaly, hyperbasophilic mononuclear cells, and IgM antibodies to EB virus, although heterophile antibodies were not detected. The illn...

Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma Presenting with an Acute Serologic Epstein-Barr Virus Profile

Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is an aggressive peripheral T-cell lymphoma typically characterized by prominent lymphadenopathy and B-symptoms at the time of presentation, polyclonal hypergammaglobulinemia, autoimmune hemolysis and frequent but highly variable involvement of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Lymph node biopsy findings typically include effacement of nodal architecture, polym...
